Sunrise Showtime

Thursday: cloudy, grey, and supervising all day. That pretty well sums it up, except for the genuinely spectacular sunrise that greeted us as we drove through the outskirts of Canterbury on the school run. The overcast skies gave way briefly to patches of clear blue and purple, with scattered clouds of fluffy gold that glowed in the early sunlight. Even a god-ray or two helped to establish the biblical credentials of this morning’s display. The Dreaded Lurgy finally seems to have gotten the message, and over the course of the day it fizzled out completely.
