Peniel Heugh….

….earlier, I nipped up the A68 for a cycle and a coffee with Chris. It wasn’t the best weather for it, but we agreed it was good to get out. Musselburgh and Portobello cycling clubs were out in force too.

Home and the weather was clearing so Nancy and I headed-up to examine the Memorial to the Battle of Waterloo near Ancrum. It’s an impressive structure but Nancy feels it’s a rather silly way to commerate so much killing and loss.

Later I caught the closing stages of the egg-chasing match between Ireland and Scotland. Not much to cheer there.
