... Palermo!

We went to visit today .. started with Catacombe dei Cappuccini where about 8.000 bodies are on display/hidden in catacombs underneath ... embalmed! Macabre tourist attraction, it was well .. educational :)

Then off we went to central Palermo where most of Sicilians took off to churches in the morning and then food and siesta, only tourists visible with loads of different cameras .. loads of fellow Nikonians around ..

It was very difficult to walk in this heat, managed only to move around from one shady place to another, took Caretto to take us around the old town ..

Palermo proved to be worth visiting place, however not so many speak any English (luckily my mum is fluent and has been complemented so many times of her Italian) ..
The only thing I didn't like is so much litter & rubbish scattered around, shame :(
