Madness
"We aren't with her!"
"We're not related to her!"
"We don't even know her!"
Well, we weren't going to own up to any insanity in the family, were we?
#2 Daughter was catching a train at noon and had wondered how she would spend the morning. Yesterday's dip with friends had focused her mind. She wanted to go down to Ullswater to swim again. It was nice weather ... for ducks, with the water a mild 5°C. She'd only once swam colder than this but she was happy, wild swimming had been a regular activity a few years ago.
After coming out and dressing we retreated to Granny Dowbekins for refreshments.
This afternoon we went for lunch at our village swimming pool where there was a consultation about plans to build on land in the village. Yes, lots of hard surfaces on the land behind, and upstream of our house to create further risk of flooding. We took photos of our entirely flooded garden on New Year's Eve and our neighbour took her 40- Year Flood History record book.
