Excellent day at Dawyck Botanical Gardens, with a pit-stop at Biggar on the way back.

Best thing about Dawyck? Race course down to the chapel (run in record time by my fabulously fast boys), the giant sequoias (we really are sooo tiny aren't we!) and homemade lemon meringue ice-cream.

Best thing about Biggar? The best museum ever, that ought to be on the list of top ten Scottish visitor attractions. So, the Riverside Museum thinks it can re-create streets of the past and take you to times long gone. Pah! Nothing can match Gladstone Court. The school room, the printworks, the telephone exchange, the grocers...just brilliant. You can walk around, touch stuff (not sure if you're meant to!), get really close and really feel part of it. Absolutely loved it.
