Life is a Challenge!

TINY TUESDAY - SOMETHING ROMANTIC...

I have been keeping a careful eye on the tulips I brought home from the Community Fridge a couple of weeks ago, especially as I really like them at this stage, where they are past their best!  Odd perhaps, but those who like tulips that don’t look pristine will know what I mean.

I thought this one was “curling” rather well so here it is, for its 15 minutes of fame on Blip - completely off theme, which is “Something romantic for Valentine’s”.

In fact, Mr. HCB and I don’t DO Valentine cards or any of that slushy romantic stuff;  in fact, I can’t remember the last time he bought me flowers.  I have told him in the past that buying plants from a Garden Centre doesn’t count and nor does buying me the occasional orchid, which he says is good because it keeps blooming!  He also says he plants the garden for me, so I guess that's as romantic as it gets!

Had a lovely coffee catch-up with my friend, Caroline - and we both agreed that getting older doesn’t have much to recommend it, but at least we laughed about our various ailments!  We got back to the car and I had quite a job getting out of a tight spot - but with encouragement from Caroline I managed it - so I’m not quite on the scrap heap yet!

We have our Podiatrist/Chiropodist coming later, so we will both be glad to get our feet looked at and then perhaps I can go out walking a bit more.  At the moment, because of the numbness in my feet and legs and also other issues with my feet, I haven’t been out walking that much - but  Spring is on the way, so hopefully, when the better weather comes I will get back into the habit.  I do admire Caroline, who although she has various health issues, still goes out walking every day, so I hope by the time we meet again, I can tell her I have been doing the same.

I’m not expecting any flowers from Mr. HCB on Friday, St. Valentine’s Day, but I know he reads my Blips, so you never know - he might just feel inspired to buy me a huge bouquet!  On second thoughts, don’t bother;  we are going out to celebrate our grandson’s 30th birthday on Thursday, so let’s make that do and anyway, you can’t eat flowers! ;-)

P.S.  I have to put a PS today because one of my Blip friends thinks this looks like a boxer - and he is quite right - so I know that at least another of my Blip friends will be grateful for the pareidolia - you know who you are!
