First frogspawn
There was a bit of a change in the weather this morning; instead of a lovely clear sky it had turned a bit grey. I decided to take Bertie to Calgary for a walk along the track to the old pier and he seemed to enjoy it, finding lots of new smells to check out. I spotted my first frogspawn of 2025 in one of the many puddles in the track. In the bay I saw a couple of Great Northern Divers doing what divers do best and on the rocks there was a number of oyster catchers chattering amongst themselves. When w returned to the beginning of the track we headed down to the beach which we had all to ourselves. As we turned to walk over the machair back to the car there were a few drops of rain but it didn’t come to anything and we got home dry.
Thank you to all who asked after Bertie following his visit to the vet yesterday. The vet found nothing physical wrong with him and thinks that the symptoms suggest something causing pressure on a nerve. He has been given a course of tablets to treat a possible cause of the pressure and we have to keep a diary of his behaviour. She reassured us that it wasn’t anything life-threatening.
