Heart Sutra
Construction - or more precisely- deconstruction continues, and I’m actually quite grateful that I have a colorectal appointment in Liverpool which takes us away from all the dust and noise.
It’s a bit of a strange appointment - a new consultant, or new to me at least. His opening comment is ‘why do you have a stoma?’ It’s a very long and complex saga, and I feel like asking him why he hasn’t read my notes, but it seems he wants to know whether I have a full understanding of my condition, and it appears I’ve passed the test. He’s not the surgeon who will be operating on me in April, but he agrees with me that I don’t need part of the planned surgery (a hernia repair) which will make things less complicated I hope.
Then it’s back for camera club - my first session since November. Tonight’s guest speaker, Rev Richard Hainsworth, presented two very different talks - the first on a solo trip to the Moroccan desert, the second on his very creative portrait photography. Both very interesting!
Hopefully today’s blip is a little more interesting than yesterday’s! Today’s theme is something for Valentine’s Day, but I must admit this is a bit of a strange interpretation. It’s a print of a heart sutra purchased in Ryokan-Ji Zen temple in Kyoto. Eventually, we’ll get it framed and it can take its place on our newly plastered walls!
