Silver Dollar

Took a leisurely hike up through Dollar Glen to Castle Gloom* here this afternoon. It's on the extremities of the Wee County (though looking a bit Colditz today) but I don't think I've actually blipped it before.

Having taken the more energetic option of parking at the bottom of the hill and walking up I'd forgotten how many steps there were along the windy path up to the castle itself, or that there are a few vertigo inducing sections for vertigo suffering Samantha too. Arrived just after last entry though so didn't venture inside its walls. Must return and do that some other day as it looks to have some good views from the top of the ramparts.

*Original name was 'Glume', but now known as 'Castle Campbell'. Situated between the 'Burn of Care' and the 'Burn of Sorrow' if Hammer Studios were ever looking for a good film set then they'd not go far wrong with this. When the sun's not shining like today that is.
