This is the entrance to our village War Memorial. It's a bit sorry looking now, but thought it timely to be taking a photo of this today.

Inside the gardens there's an ancient rock that lists the names of all the locals that lost their lives in both World Wars (I think this used to be inside the lychgate but over the years that must've decayed and deteriorated until the new plaques appeared).

Apart from a couple of dog walkers (the ghostly figures inside the gate) I had the place to myself for a peaceful hour or so. Which was nice.
