TV Choice Awards!

Not the most high profile of awards ceremonies but always fun.  I booked into Soho House’s High Road House which was lovely to land in. Always feels homely partly as it’s in Chiswick where I lived (well, Chiswick borders).  Got the tube into The Hyde Park Hilton where the awards are taking place.   Torrential rain so my thin soled shoes were wet as I squelched into the hotel. 

Lots of familiar faces from on and off the telly.  Nick enjoyed meeting Heidi and Steve as Heidi’s Liverpudlian cousin had been his history teacher.   We didn’t win, Mr Bates and the Post Office did of course but as I knew a lot of them it was nice to see them hoover up another prize. Rather cooly they got one of the post mistresses to accept the award.   It all went quite swiftly except for Escape to the Country who when they won made the kind of speech that an Oscar winner might have made at the peak of their celebrated career.   Hung around at the after party a bit and accepted Nick’s dares to introduce him to some of his idols (none of whom I knew) so that he could selfie to show his kids.
