Pew Ends

This morning after my Sainsbury’s delivery, I gave up waiting for the weather to improve, and spent some time in the garden pruning my buddleia right back. It was very cold. This afternoon I went with G to the Thursdays at 3 concert at Cley church, meeting M there. It was a recital called Songs of Love featuring two female singers accompanied by piano. The music was by Ambler, Handel, Mozart, Offenbach, Puccini, Rogers & Hamerstein and Schumann. It was very enjoyable, although I only knew ‘If I Loved You’ from Carousel. It was very cold, I kept my winter coat done up and my gloves on. Afterwards there was a hot drink and a very delicious cake which was still warm. All the concerts so far this year have already raised £9,000. My photo shows two of the 15th Century pew ends, how fabulous are they. There is a lot of fundraising at the moment for a number of improvements to the church, one part includes improving the very uncomfortable pews, but retaining these wonderful pew ends.
