Snowy Day
And not done yet! We had a bit of snow - maybe a half inch out here where I live in western Portland. But it was very windy and the snow was blowing down the golf course! Tonight we're anticipating snow, sleet and ice before this all ends sometime tomorrow morning. Hopefully it will all melt by the afternoon when the temps will reach into the 40's F - more normal for this time of year.
The kitties and I were determined to make this a real snow day! The fire is warm and I worked on my NY Times word puzzles and a jigsaw puzzle. I got caught up with a couple of phone conversations with friends. I did go outside long enough to see the snow but it wasn't very interesting. However, this new cyclamen that I just bought earlier this week is pretty cool, sitting on my kitchen counter. It's a brand new cultivar called Cyclamen persicum 'Metis Victoria'. It's a mini cyclamen, not frost tolerant (so an indoor cyclamen, unlike Cyclamen coum which we grow outdoors here). Its attributes are the gorgeous frilly "crowns", and although the description doesn't say so, it has a very light fragrance which I was surprised to smell!
