Eastern Passage
A quick trip out this morning to buy more salt. I may be out early tomorrow morning putting some salt on the driveway. Then I went for a drive around the Eastern Passage/Cow Bay loop. The boat in the photo is the one that we were on for a trip to McNab's Island and the sunset cruise last summer.
A few birds around today, mostly the starlings and the pigeons. The northern flicker came back, after not seeing him for over a week. The hairy woodpecker was at the bird pie this morning. I'm not sure if there was a predator in the area, he sat there without moving for over 20 minutes. There were no starlings around either. I did see a few crows go thru on the other side of the ravine, they may have been chasing a hawk.
The snow started around noon time, only a couple of cm accumulation, then it changed to freezing rain and now it is raining. I don't think we are getting as much rain as forecast, it is supposed to end around 10 pm instead of midnight. Then the temperature starts to drop. I am hoping they keep the roads well salted overnight. I have to work tomorrow, and I have to stop at the bus terminal to pick up a couple of the workers.
I spent the afternoon working on a new jigsaw puzzle. It is only 550 pieces, so it is about one third complete already. Time to order some new puzzles.
