Happy Valentines Day!
A Valentines Day gift to myself, I bought some fresh tulips yesterday.
We were working at the Bedford Walmart today, and surprisingly we were finished by 5 pm. Considering there were only 5 of us there the full day, plus one for the afternoon and one useless body for part of the day. Two of the others that were supposed to work were sick and one other one had a job interview.
The one new guy that showed up claimed he had worked on a reline previous to this one, but he had no idea what he was supposed to do. I gave him the tags and the paper for his section, showed him the numbering system and told him that he had to find the product and put it in the correct spot. I think if I had stood there and showed him each product, told him to move it and where to put it for each item in the section, he might have caught on at some point. But I expect people to be able to work independently and figure things out. The store has electronic tags, so the Walmart employee has to be in the area, to update sections as they are done. She tried to help this guy too, but he just didn't get it.
So there were 5 of us working, fortunately we did not have to move any shelves at this store. Everyone did 3 - 5 sections each. There was still some new product that the store did not give us, but we did get some of it put out. We were allowed 100 hours and we finished in 50. So I added some extra time for everyone except the useless one. We deserve a bonus.
When I looked out this morning I thought my hill was still icy, actually it was a thick coat of salt on the street. My driveway is a sheet of ice still, I didn't have time this morning to break up the ice on the driveway, I did get the steps done. I will have to put more ice melt on the driveway in the morning and see if I can get the ice beside the truck broken up. Another storm in the forecast for Sunday afternoon into early Monday morning, snow, freezing rain, rain and a flash freeze. I am having flashback to the winter of 2015, we don't have as much snow as we did that winter, but we kept having snow/rain/flash freeze storms for a couple of weeks. The street I lived on at the time was so full of ruts because they didn't get it plowed before it froze, it was almost impossible to drive on it some days.
I am listening to the wind howl tonight.
