A much needed sleep with only the one minor diabetes related alarm.
Alex and I sought replacement toothbrushes in Alcester (tres jolie) then a Mcmuffin across from our abode. (Stafford/ Stratford - who's the dyslexic one, eh?)
Then - obviously - onto Iron Bridge and its pork pies iron bridge. Tom was too young to remember it, and Alex was unborn, so we wove through Worcestershire into Shropshire and duly bought pork pies. Telford is just like Cumbernauld, too. Captivating, it was. Telford and the bridge.
That done, it was onwards to Staffordshire and the bet365 and finally to Port Vale for 6th ( PV) v 2nd place Notts County - a team I last clapped eyes on in 1987.
The most interesting pre match tune selection (Penny Arcade, The Wonder of You, Ace of Spades and of course contractual obligation Robbie.)
A most enjoyable game that finally swung Vale's way when Curtis nutmegged the keeper fir an 85th minute winner. Notts County did skelp the bar in the dying minutes but the rebound went over and it ended in a home win.
The fans went wild
