With Smiffy 'aff it' and Ollie imindoors now only entertaining 1100 kick offs, it fell to dependable Mr P to meet up for a TTP*.
*TTP - tea time pint; usually on a Friday after the week's work is done but with compressed hours and early retirement, it needn't by a Friday. But spiritually it should be.
Having ushered them lads out to be educated, I settled into some overtime whilst waiting for a workie. 8-12 they said. When the doorbell went at 1238, just as I'd donned the jaikit, I knew who it was.
So I didn't get to Hers til 2, and took the hound for a jolly romp in the Meadows. The cricket squares look like they've been mowed. Surely the season can't be too far off now??
Before the TTP I made..erm..tea! Jambalaya.
Then off to an already rammed Diggers for a couple of pints of Landlord. Served by..the landlord!!!
Thirst quenched, I headed off to meet coworker Baz (he of Dundee persuasion) and off to Tynecastle for Scottish Cup quarter final action.
Somehow I managed to lose Baz in the crowd and fully ten minutes into the game, he eventually rejoined me!
Nowt much in it for the 1st 45; bar a sweet strike from Hertz Norwegian #27. A nice hit.
After the break Dundee briefly offered hope with an equaliser but after the hour, Hearts turned on the afterburners and ended up comfortably in the semi finals 3-1 winners
