Spot the missing parts!
This morning we visited Son#3, for two reasons - firstly (of course) to enjoy some time with Grandson A again, but also for a bit more DIY help. They need a TV bracket attaching firmly to one of their walls: the wall has plasterboard ("drywall" in North America) with a small gap behind it then thermal blocks.
Living in an 1904 house (where the walls are either plaster on brick, or lath and plaster) I've not worked with this type of wall before, but a little Googling showed that the fixings in the photo should do nicely. So I lazily ordered some on line, from that large multinational warehouse business whose name is the same as a Brazilian rainforest (other suppliers are available). They came very promptly the other day, hence the plan to use them today.
Silly me, I'd not thought to open the packet to check the contents until we got there - and found 3 missing parts (the metal tubes which give protection to the plasterboard). Silly supplier! I'd been so proud to see that the fixing kit is made in Britain (unusual these days) - which made me extra-disappointed!
So the task has had to be postponed to next weekend: meanwhile the faulty packet will be sent back for a refund and I've ordered some others from a local warehouse where I can check them when I go to collect them.
It's 3 weeks until the next hosted Silly Satirday challenge but I'll tag them today generically for SilS.
