The Split

A horrible damp grey day - some sleet this morning but at least it didn’t precipitate while I was out for a walk early afternoon. The murk never really lifted - see extra.

I found a poor willow tree that has been split in two - presumably in the last storm. I managed to scramble down a bank to get a closer photo of it. The top of the split is about 2 metres from the ground and extends the full length of the trunk.
