Spare Human's Turn.
They say cats that live with more than one person have "their" human and the others are the "spare" humans. I have the honour of being Minstrel's human, but today he actually slept on Brian's lap!
We'd been sitting on the sofa to watch a rugby league match and Minstrel had taken up residence on my lap as usual. At half time I needed a pee and had to disturb him and he moved next door to Brian's lap.
It's now over half an hour past cat feeding time and he's still there!
We are going out tonight to see a local band we like. As ever I'm ambivalent about going. There's the usual chore of having to get ready, having to find something to wear and tonight there's extra reluctance due to it being cold and wet out...
There's rugby league on again now... It's basically a training run out for St Helens against the Salford Academy side. Salford had financial difficulties and are in the process now of changing ownership. Because there are still legal issues to tie up concerning the sale, Salford have to play under a reduced salary cap meaning that they have to field a drastically weaker side.
The score is 22-0 to Saints after 18 minutes. It could be a cricket score! It will also give Saints enough of a positive points difference to be a distinct advantage on the league table. They are a good enough team not to need a head start. Salford will have the opposite.
It's not Saints' choice of course, and you can only play what's in front of you. I'd expect Wigan to fill their boots if it had been them in this situation. I just think maybe the game should have been postponed instead.
