Everyday Life

Fresh!

Our night out last night was OK. The band (Cap'n Rasty's Skiffle City Rockers) were, as ever, excellent! They are a seven piece band covering songs ranging from sea shanties and folk songs to more modern tracks from various genres in a lively skiffle style Last night they added a song of their own - a witty number entitled "I wanna be a game-show host" which was fun!

The venue was not so great. It is divided into three rooms - a main bar which is large and L-shaped, partitioned into two areas, and another very small bar. The band played in that very tiny area which, once they and all their equipment were in, barely held more than a dozen people without being crowded. You could hear them fine from the other bar, but couldn't see them, which is part of the experience in my view.

We squeezed into the small bar along with people who I think were mostly the band's friends and family and a few others who decided to brave the crush. Even with all the people it was not very warm as we were near the open door.

I don't know if I'd go to a live show there again...

Today we decided to have a walk to Tesco and look for Blips on the way. I liked this fresh produce-themed post-box topper in the entrance to the store. Full disclosure - I did not take this shot. Brian took it for me with my phone! It's a very tall pillar box and I couldn't see what I was doing or get the right angle for the shot so I asked him to take it for me!
