The Three B's

The Bees & the Butterfly's. Oh & of course the Buddleia.

The garden is suddenly alive with bees & butterfly's, & the buddleia is where most of the action is at. It's teeming with life & it's a joy to see & snap!

We're sticking to our Great North Run training schedule, & both Jenny & I began the day with a 4 mile run, my 4th run this week. Luckily the overnight rain had passed & a beautiful fluffy cloud filled, blue sky, summers day emerged & made for the perfect running conditions. Energised, we spent the rest of the day shopping, backing, cooking & watching films.

We'd set aside this weekend for preparations for my Marie Curie fund-raising bake sale on Monday at the Office. We can tick of flapjacks, cupcakes (un-iced) & the base of the salted-caramel millionaire shortbread - the first & third I can claim proud responsibility for. And in a nutshell, we watched Harry Potter The Goblet of Fire, I made potato gnocchi with basil & tomato sauce from scratch using Gennaro Contaldo's recipe from his book with Antonio Carluccio, Two Greedy Italians (mmm lovely!) & we watched Aliens where Ripley has to again face those pesky extra-terrestrials with anger-management issues!

Oh & we had mojitos garnished with our home-grown mint. It's the weekend, what did you expect!?
