Notes no longer needed

We enjoyed a long catch-up chat with Jerry on FaceTime this morning. When updating him on Mummy hazelh, I showed Jerry sample notes from the collection that we assembled during my mother's time with us. We kept three of each message held by a peg in a clear plastic envelope in the kitchen. Whenever we left Mummy hazelh to go out, we placed one note next to her, popped one in her bathroom, and sellotaped one to the door to her quarters. The notes are now redundant, so after our chat with Jerry I photographed them as a record, then popped them into the recycling.

Most of the day I have been writing letters. I finished the one to Deborah that I started on Monday, then wrote another couple: one to Jackie in Cirencester, and another to Eileen in Winchester. In the middle of this we made some exciting plans with Winsford for next Saturday night.

When we spoke to Frances at her husband's funeral on Wednesday and she told us about her plans for the next few days, I realised that she would be on her own on Saturday night. We therefore invited her over to our flat for supper and a film this evening. We had a lovely time together with lots of chat, much of it about Chris and Frances' long marriage. We chose a very light-hearted film for our post-supper entertainment. Paddington in Peru is not as funny as the other two films in the series, but it was amusing enough for a quiet night in with our grieving friend.

Exercise today: one hour on the exercise bike.
