Pig portrait

Mr hazelh and I have enjoyed a lovely afternoon out at Cambo. We organised the trip principally to see the snowdrops (extra). We arrived at 1:30pm and ate our 'biddy' picnic in the car park, then joined the 2pm tour of the garden and house. Afterwards we walked down to the beach, following the same route that we took on 25th July 2024, this this time without a wheelchaired octogenarian. Hot chocolate in the café warmed us up afterwards. We passed this friendly pig on the way to the beach.

The journey there and back was also fun. We 'revised' snowdrops in the car, listening to downloaded radio programmes about the plant. We learnt that (1) snowdrops are not native to the UK, (2) they are only documented here since the 1500s, (3) certain varieties can sell for hundred of pounds, and (4) there are criminals who steal them to order! We also saw a few starling murmurations from the car, although on the basis of their size we labelled them 'whispers'.

We came home via Paddy and Caitlin's flat to pick up spent mash from Paddy's brewing exploits today. This is now warming up my compost heap.

Exercise today: 1 hour on the exercise bike; walking (9,835 steps).
