Pampas grass

Slow week at work. I've things to do but not enough to fill my days - though there are things I can't start yet that need to be started. I've at least managed to get a few things done.

Today's back blip is a clump of pampas grass at the hippodrome, it's growing in a swampy section in the bend of the track. The gravel track does a 180° and there is a slope on the bank, so the railing are rising to the right of the picture.

In full summer this whole area is dry enough to walk on but covered in dense growth - the dog loves to look for rabbits. In the winter, it's a lot wetter and very boggy, and a lot of the plants die back or are cut back by the ground-keepers.
