The sanctuary gong

In times of yore (pre-pandemic) we had servers in church who would strike this gong at the appropriate points in the Eucharistic prayers.

For many reasons, we currently don't have any servers but several of us missed the gong. When I first took over as organist, we had incense regularly - not every week, but for major feast days, and I miss that too. Nothing I can do about that though at the moment - but I know it's not just me.

I could, however, do the gong and have done so whenever I can. Occasionally one of the church teenagers has done it as well, but they are not always around, and if I'm prepared to do it it works best.
