Quiet Corner
It was tent city out on the lake, a jamboree of sorts. The ice fishermen, teenagers most likely, gathered at one end of the lake with all their paraphernalia: quad bikes and snowmobiles, ice augers, sleds and the aforementioned tents. Music, if it can be called that, drifted over the snow covered lake, along with loud voices, although what was being discussed I don't know. I suspect not much fishing actually got done.
I considered trying to capture the activity, perhaps in a Lowry sort of way, but I just couldn't; it did not appeal.
Instead, I found this intimate scene, with snow blown up against the trunk of an ash tree. A quiet little corner of nature.
