The Road Less Travelled

I had to phone the garage about a warning light that has come on but requires connecting to the garage's computer to identify what/why.
So the car is booked in for Monday morning, but in the meantime it was suggested that I go for a reasonable drive but not to use top gear so that the engine revs are higher and any 'gunk' that may have built up may be burnt and blown out.
So, after washing the windows (in the light snow that started as I stepped outside) we went for a drive.
I stopped to take a couple of pictures and quite liked this view. 
It is one of the main roads west from the south of Edinburgh but it was very quiet.
We found out why when we came across the police roadblock while they delt with the car crash. It was fairly obvious that a van driver thought he could turn right before the car coming towards him actually arrived. It was a bit of a mess.
