Mons Meg

Made in Mons in Belgium in 1457 and capable of throwing a 145kg ball 2 miles. She was in 'active service' until 1550. The barrel eventually burst in 1681.

It is the only picture I took took today - and is of a slide my father-in-law took.
I was under the impression that she no longer overlooked the city as the last time I saw her (which is quite a few years ago admittedly) she was inside to protect her from the weather - but apparently she has been tarted up and is back outside.

This afternoon SWMBO and I went to a 'Happiness Meeting' at the community hall.

SWMBO has been very anxious since her stroke and she is not sleeping at all well and has been trying on-line sessions which really haven't been doing it for her.
This afternoons session seemed to be much more up her street ... based around breathing techniques.
Not really my thing though.
