Start to finish

Definitely felt like I was in a post-weekend slump as I sent the wee ones back off to their mother this morning.

I had no need to go into the office this morning, but I was keen to keep myself occupied and dragged myself in for a couple of hours. I was glad that I did, as my boss was there and it gave us a chance to have a quick catch up on a few things that are going on behind the scenes.

How he continues to care so much about the job whilst learning to live with Parkinsons is beyond me, but he does it anyway.

Returning home around lunchtime, I did a little bit of housework and dropped some old clothes off at the charity shop and some at my sister’s before getting some fresh air and a hot chocolate (needs must).

The afternoon was very quiet from a work perspective, so when 5pm hit I was keen to continue on with “jobs” and did some pottering about before giving the car a much needed run-through the car wash.

I quite liked the oil painting effect as the soap and water cascaded down the windscreen.

Finally watched the excellent Conclave this evening (Ralph Fiennes just blows everyone off the screen - an acting masterclass) and juxtaposed this with the second half of Leeds and their last second winner against Sunderland.

Sometime it’s not about how you start, but how well you finish.
