A Full Day
We had our fortnightly house group meeting at Christine’s this morning, and our friend Alison brought the most delicious banana cake she had made to have with our teas and coffees. As ever, an interesting discussion stemmed from our study reading. We ended the morning with a heartfelt prayer for the world which seems to be in such a precarious situation at the moment, and especially in Ukraine and the Middle East where President Trump’s pugnacious and insensitive meddling is deeply resented by many in European and Arabic countries. I took a photo of the gorgeous roses which Christine’s husband David gave her on Valentines Day, and which are still looking great, so that is my blip for today.
Just time for a quick bit of lunch at home before driving over to Rayleigh for an appointment with the dental hygienist. She suggested I might try using flossing harps to help prevent developing plaque, and gave me a mirror to watch while she demonstrated the technique on my lower front teeth. I bought a bag of them on the way back to the car to have a go with.
By the time I got back there was no time left to get started on anything at home, so yet again I haven’t been able to do any more box sorting. Life has got too busy lately, and I’m finding that a bit frustrating. I’ve had an email from the conveyancing solicitor to say that she completed yesterday, and is arranging for registration formalities to be completed at Land Registry. My online research indicates that it should take 4-6 weeks for them to change the deeds and issue the Title Information Document to show that the bungalow is registered in my name. So I think I do now actually own the property legally at last, and it’s just a question of this being formally registered.
