Up to Leeds

I’ve come up to Leeds today for a weekend with the lovely Mrs G. We’d planned it a few weeks ago but Mrs G had the plague so we rearranged. I’d picked up a dressing table she’d bought on Marketplace so rather than her paying for a courier she’s paid for a spa day for us tomorrow. A much better use of money!!
The journey up was quick . Apart from the usual seven hundred miles of 50mph restrictions while they do away with the hard shoulder on the M1 and install the deadly refuge areas.
Mrs G has spent the last week redecorating her bathroom and this morning a man came round to fit the new floor. It took longer than expected so we just sat and chatted and ate lovely butternut squash soup.
Once he’d finished we headed to Dunelm to look at bathroom bins, blinds, and light fittings. Mrs G got a bin and I bought a completely impulse purchase blind for the dining room. Half price and beautiful. Perfect!!
We took Barney out for a walk when we got back. It was just getting dark but we had a nice half hour.
Then it was to Tesco and home for the most delicious creamy Tuscan chicken. As usual at Mrs G’s I’m inspired to start cooking more than the three or four things we seem to live on!!
This recipe seems like something I can manage so it’s definitely going to be added to my repertoire!!
