Baby Its Cold Outside

The " gutter men " arrived around 9am.  After a while they knocked on the door to tell me the bad news that they were unable to replace the gutters.  It was " a bigger job than they thought ".  They assumed they could just unclip the old gutters and fit new.  However when they took a closer look they found the gutters were bolted on to the fascia and taking the guttering off without damaging the fascia was something they couldn't do.  Its a type of guttering they haven't come across before ( trust me to have something unusual ) They think scaffolding will be needed anyway  - which they don't have.  They are going to send me some numbers of roofers  that they would recommend. Fortunately they were able to put the ridge tile back in place.... its been stuck half way down the roof since the last storm.  And they replaced some broken tiles. 

When they left I had in mind popping to Gateshead to Specsavers but then I thought it might be busy with being closed for two days.  So I will go next week. In the end I just went back to bed for a couple of hours .... joined by Tino and Lily.

This afternoon I made another batch of  mini quiche muffins to take to slimming group tomorrow as its " Taster Night ".

The Wide Wednesday theme is "Weather with you ".  As I have only been outside to put some bird food out and there was nothing much to blip weatherwise I was blipless until this evening when I spotted my throw over the back of my armchair.  The full wording on the throw is " Baby Its Cold Outside " .  And as it has been cold outside today it fits with the weather theme.  Thanks to BobsBlips for hosting.
