Look Out

Tapestry

I am seeing niece J this evening and taking along a couple of things of J’s which she has said she would like. Two bottles of cologne, and a tapestry set (to make a fair isle spectacle case). J had got as far as stretching the fabric taut to start the stitching but that is as far as she got before life intervened.

I took this placing the stretched fabrics against a window. Those are raindrops peeping through. Or, as Simon Armitage described them on the poem “Rain” carved into the rock I visited on Tuesday, freshwater tears.
