Dead in the water

This afternoon I discovered one of our beautiful Koi Carp dead in the fish pond. This was one of the older ones, perhaps twenty years or more, and very large. It had survived an attack by a heron several years ago and had a huge scar on top of its head. Why it died now is a mystery.
