Highlandman
This splendid figure was displayed outside the first floor of tobacconist Charles Rattray’s shop in Perth from 1915 until 1981, the shop was eventually demolished. Luckily he was saved along with other pieces for £4200 and is now housed in the new museum.
Remember it fondly as a youngster in Perth and was glad to see the old familiar Highlander again.Extra is of an old photo of the shop frontage, date unknown.
Rattrays were renowned worldwide for their pipe making. Ah ! memories.
