A combination of the anniversary (tomorrow) of my MiLs death, plus a couple of days A/L to use up from last year resulted in a shared day off and a trip out today. There's an exhibition of photographs of 80's Britain on at the Tate that I wanted to see (https://www.tate.org.uk/whats-on/tate-britain/the-80s-photographing-britain) and then I took Himself out for a couple of beers at one of his favourite pubs (he's not in the extra, he was at the bar). We were going  to go for lunch but neither of us felt hungry enough for some reason (very unusual for me).

The exhibition was good but seemed quite oddly curated, and quite big. It also focused very much on the very newsworthy (at the time) things; race riots, the miners strike, Greenham Common, the Troubles etc.. There was nothing to show anything positive from the era. Having been in my teens and twenties through the period I know there was a lot more to it than depicted, and not just punks and new romantics. It was good though, I'm glad I saw it.

Home for a quiet night before a couple of full on days, physically and mentally.
