Pink pig (shame I didn’t see it tomorrow)

We had a marvellous time yesterday evening with our new acquaintances. Conversation flowed easily, they were interested in us and what we’ve done. Not something that everyone does. The food was superb too.

We’re meeting up again in April after they’ve returned from South Africa and I’ve got back from California. And they’re keen to walk with us too. We were looking for an opportunity to talk about our move but it didn’t arise which is a dilemma for us as we really enjoy their company and it’s a new friendship.

The first two weeks in March we’re on our travels ending up from the 7th in Cumbria to search out that rental property. We’re going via Bristol to see an old college friend (old in both senses) and to visit my late dad’s last surviving relative in Shropshire.

Two of us wasted 20 minutes of our lives which we’ll never get back having a fraught conversation about disposal of the cuttings from the tennis club’s tall hedge that bounds the allotments. We had differences of opinion about the same issue. Hopefully, there’s a way forward.

On a lighter note Susan spotted this forlorn pink pig waiting to be rescued. A small child must have dropped it or it fell out of the pushchair. Looks sad to me. As is probably the child. A splash of colour on a fairly dull day.

Another highlight was getting away with a 60x30cm tile for our utility room. Our builder said call in, mention his name and ask for a free tile We did that. The assistant didn’t know who we were talking about! Nevertheless we came away with our free tile. I think the assistant was hoping we’d be back to place an order.
