Tower Bridge

Further to yesterday's post, the silver lining continued with after work drinks with my friend, Dave, with whom I first worked in Glasgow in 2000.

Eschewing the Jubilee Line, I decided to walk from Waterloo to Canary Wharf, this afternoon, starting off along The Cut and crossing the Thames at Tower Bridge.

Having found my way through St Katherine Docks, I took the Thames Path as much as was possible (it seems to be closed in places).

It was a nice walk, actually, and I passed three or four pubs that looked like they might make for a nice little crawl one afternoon. I will have to arrange that with Wol.

And it was lovely to see Dave. I wish I could see him more often: such a funny and interesting man. We ended up staying in the pub - our original plan had been to eat - and the time flew by before I had get back to Mum, this time embracing the pleasures* of the Jubilee Line.

*convenience, basically
