1095 day of war
Hello, friends!
This week has been quite busy for me because I received a couple of T-shirt orders, which took up all my free time. Although I often have periods without any orders, it now seems like I’m reaching a point where, even without advertising or actively managing social media, I still receive orders. Right now, with everything happening, it's really hard for me to work, but when I get orders, I feel obligated to complete them on time, so I try to work as much as I can.
For the country, this week has been critical. All the news has been filled with Trump’s statements about Zelensky and Ukraine, and many people here are expecting the worst. I don’t know if it makes sense to analyze everything he said, but maybe it’s worth doing, even though his statements honestly seem completely detached from reality.
There’s been a lot of talk about elections as a necessary condition for ending the war, and to me, that seems very dangerous. In the past, when Putin talked about this, it was clear that he just wanted to push his candidate into power and take over our country, like he did with Yanukovych. But now, it seems like even Trump doesn’t like Zelensky anymore, and he also wants to replace him with someone who will just sign any agreements.
Elections are undoubtedly important for the country, but not during wartime. Zelensky may not be liked by everyone, but the claim that he has only 4% support is false. On the contrary, after these statements, his approval rating has actually risen, and I feel that we have all united around the president. Yesterday, a poll was conducted in the country to determine Zelensky’s actual approval rating, and it has indeed increased to 63%, which I think reflects reality.
Personally, I trust Zelensky because he didn’t flee the country at the beginning of the war, and over the past three years, he has repeatedly proven that he acts in the interests of Ukraine and its people. I am confident that he will not surrender the country to Putin or agree to deals that would lead to our destruction.
Moreover, the claims that he is a dictator are simply ridiculous. Dictators don’t last in our country—every attempt at a power grab or forceful pressure on the people has ended in massive protests and a Maidan uprising.
Trump’s other statements sounded very similar to Russian propaganda, and hearing that from a U.S. president is strange.
As frightening as all these statements may seem right now, I see that rallies in support of Ukraine are planned around the world for tomorrow, and even in the U.S., there have been protests against Trump’s stance. So I think we will be able to get through this and survive. I hope that even though things are tough now, we are truly moving toward some kind of resolution. That’s why I’m trying to stay calm no matter what happens and believe that we won’t be abandoned and everything will be okay.
Thank you all for your support! This is a difficult time for us and for the country, and I’m glad we are not alone. Also, a huge thanks for the support on BuyMeACoffee, it really helps a lot.
