I drove through the pass
in the Gilas to get to
Wellton's art show there

I planned to be on the Interstate at 9:30 heading east to Wellton just 35 minutes on the other side of the Gilas. The town of Wellton, only about 2500 in population, has an active art group that meets and displays in their little museum. Today, Pioneer Day in Wellton, there was a lot of activity. I missed the parade, but found a parking spot near the museum.
I was hoping to meet up with J who lives there and is a lovely painter. I found her set up under a tent. We had a chat to catch up and I found her painting of cactus in bloom that just had to go home with me. J also paints on rocks which she offers to her customers for free. She has a bin full of them.
Inside the museum, one of our plein air buddies was demonstrating in acylics and I caught her in action and making a sale. We, too, had a great chat.
When my feet had had enough for the morning I got back on the Interstate heading west.
I'm home for the rest of the day. The yard sale is in day 2 this weekend across the street. Ugh!
