Predictable

At least there's some foreground interest. Took S and Sue's son D to the airport today as it turned out they were on the same flight, which was handy. Last-minute change of plan when S checked the coolant level on the Fiat, which we generally do before any journey further than 10 km as the rate of leaking has increased recently. It was well below minimum, and when he unscrewed the filler cap it snapped, leaving the seal firmly in place so that we couldn't top it up. We decided not to risk it, and quickly cranked up trusty old Bruno the Peugeot. I'm sure the outing did him good, he hasn't been anywhere for a while. I stopped for this blip on the way back after a quick shop in Grand Frais and Picard, both open on a Sunday morning.

The plane was over an hour and a half late, but S still made it in time for his train, so all good. I spent the afternoon cooking and tidying up, as I was hosting my book group. We read And Now We Shall Be Entirely Free, my choice. Everybody liked the writing, even if they were not all enthused by the plot. And we had our usual good sociable chat -- in my case without having to leave home! Everyone else lives rather far away from me, so it's normally a 20-30 minute drive. I made a cheeseboard tart owing to a glut of cheese in the fridge and S not being here to eat it -- everyone loved it, including me ... I haven't made it for ages. Plus the orange and cranberry cake I had tested on the choir recently -- I think I'll add that to the blog too. Not very diet friendly -- I'll have to be sensible tomorrow.
