Devil's Work . . .

Like a scene from a Stephen King movie, this derelict home stands forlorn and forbidding high on a hill in the middle of a cornfield. It was savaged in the middle of a recent long hot night by a windstorm, which took away much of the front of the building. It's the work of the devil, the more superstitious of our neighbours whisper nervously to each other, whispers, pointing to the sinners who live in the valley below . . .
