Riverstone Castle

On my way home today I stopped off at Riverstone Kitchen for lunch. A dairy farmers wife started this place a good many years back. She started by growing dried flowers and selling them also doing dried arrangements at meetings while she talked about her life. A very hard worker and a real hard case.
It has now become a booming business, huge gift shop, also an incredibly busy restaurant run by her son . They also sell jam and the likes with the produce for the jams and the veges for the restaurant coming from her garden.
Once she got all that going she had a whim to build a castle with much of the marble etc being sourced from overseas. She has tours around it and today one was taking place but I didn’t have time to stay. People that have been say it’s well worth it
A real tourist stop and a great place for gift shopping. Their new gift shop is truly amazing
Have also added in extras two pics I took on the way home one of Moeraki Harbour and the other the Oamaru Harbour
Cameron and Makayla headed out to sea at Moeraki fishing this morning at 6am. Just been talking to them and they had their quota of blue cod by 10 am and spent the rest of the day trying for big fish unsuccessfully but said they had really enjoyed their day. Such a well matched couple
Thanks for all the kind comments on yesterday’s blip. Good to be home after a fabulous weekend
