Cricket day

The weather calmed down today and we had a last check of Porpoise Bay before leaving. 6 porpoises bobbing about in the surf.
We continued our drive on and back to Invercargill and to Queens park for an afternoon of cricket. A big match, Otago Volts v Northern, sort of like a County match in UK. A wet night delayed the start and finally they got going at 2.30, either way reduced overs. Our son was on the grounds team today so had been on duty since 7am, with much hanging around.
But the sun shone and the match gave us exciting moments, with Volts pulling a win but keeping us there till 7pm.
Tonight’s accommodation was a cabin at a camp site - for us, our son and his girlfriend Em. She kindly provided dinner - a delicious pie she had picked up at the farmers market in Dunedin.
