Discombobulated
I was feeling unwell by bedtime last night, having had a brief dizzy spell in the afternoon when visiting a friend on her birthday. By bedtime I was looking very pale and felt dizzy and sick. When I lay on my back in bed and looked up at the centre 5-light fitting, I could see at least ten lights. Then, when I turned over to lie on to my left side, that’s when the world started spinning. Or, at least, my bedside clock did. Relentlessly.
I somehow managed to get a night’s sleep by lying on my back or on my right side, and avoided actually being sick, but woke feeling exhausted. I’ve suffered from these bouts of labyrinthitis before so I knew exactly what I was dealing with. I had a call back from the GP this afternoon and she’s prescribed the betahistine tablets which have helped me in the past. Smithers has just gone down to the Broadway to collect the prescription from the chemist for me, like the hero he is.
I’m now downstairs after spending most of the day in bed, but am taking things easy until this passes.
