Starry night

Tuesday 
We caught the train to Carlisle this morning.  Arrived at lunchtime and luckily our room was ready at the hotel, so able to check in early. It's bitterly cold here!
The cathedral is just behind our hotel, so we headed there first. Then a short walk to the castle which unfortunately was closed - only open at weekends this month. We had a wander down the river and then back through the city centre.  The hotel has a swimming pool but neither of us brought swimming costumes with us. Dennis managed to get some shorts at the shops, so he went for a swim before dinner.
We found a lovely Greek restaurant nearby.
