Carlisle to Settle rail trip

Wednesday  - back blip 
We left Carlisle midmorning and took the scenic train to Settle. The journey started out sunny, but we had some rain as well as a brief snow shower on the way. Arrived too early to check into our hotel at Settle, so we dumped our bags and found a nice cafe for lunch - just as the rain came on. Afterwards we had a lovely walk through the town and along the river. Saw a heron and several grey wagtails. 
Dinner at a local Italian restaurant in the evening.
