Cascate di Lillaz

This morning we walked up to see Lillaz frozen waterfall. A very impressive sight although a lot of ice has now broken off. To give an idea of scale look for the bridge above it. The ice climbers were carrying on further up the valley in search of more stable frozen waterfalls.

We then followed the cross country ski tracks along a high path (black route) and eventually back down to Cogne for lunch. It started to snow lightly as we made our way along. Bumped in to a friend from Villars who is working here for a few days. Small world. We met up again this evening for a catch up. The journey back to Lillaz was along an easier blue route. Beautiful scenery along the river and, of course, it stopped snowing as soon as we arrived back at the hotel.
