Through the Trees

This was my view of Ramsay Garden through the Princes Street Gardens’ trees as I waited for the arrival of a tram. One of the perks of being an Edinburgher with a bus pass is free transport on a tram when other people must pay.  I was on my way to Haymarket to pick up my newly MOT’d and overhauled sewing machine. I could of course have walked from my starting point outside M&S, it really no distance at all to the likes of this lady, but I’m getting lazy and what’s not to like about a traffic free hurl in a tram?
I was decanted within yards of the shop and having made the eye watering amount to get my machine, I called an Uber and Mr Drummond himself carried out my Husquarna and deposited it careful in the car. Service with a smile he said , well he would wouldn’t he with the amount I had just signed over to him. I was back in the Dower House by 10:30, much lighter in the pocket.

A team of balconists appeared for the first time this week and appeared to be gathering up all the rubble and broken paving stones that have been lying on the grass for 3 months. It’s left an unholy mess which I hope the gardeners can fix. I manage to speak to one of the men who seemed a bit more clued up than the others and mentioned to him that my broken pipe still needs mending before they leave the site. It always feel as though nobody’s listening or bothered even though he said he would get putty and fix it. That’s been said before and nothing happens. I feel very helpless in getting anyone in charge to actually do something or even anything. It’s been a pig’s breakfast of an operation….Grrrr!
